Three ways to apply for JEE online

Way 1 : (Credit Card Mode)
Apply sitting at Home and pay using Credit card

You may choose this way if you can pay using a credit card that is accepted by the payment gateways available at this website. 
These are the steps to be followed :-

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WAY 1-- APPLY FROM HOME AND PAY USING CREDIT CARD
Step 1 .
Decide on the Town/City where you shall be writing JEE 2010. Find out the Zonal IIT to which your Town/City belongs to by clicking here.
Step 2 .
Next, you will have to register yourself and submit application at the online JEE website. You will get a user name and you fill in a password. Register yourself ONLY after you understand steps 3 to 11 below. After registration, you will be prompted to login to the website using the username and password.
Step 3.
After logging into the website, you will be prompted to enter necessary data. You can PRACTISE entering the data by clicking here.
Step 4.
For the payment mode select "Payment Gateway". Use the credit card to pay the money. Credit cards accepted shall be listed here shortly. This ends your application process.
Step 5.
At this point, a PDF file of the application with all details filled shall be generated and you can save it in your disk.
Step 6.
If you have a printer at home - print the file, else copy the file (into a pen-drive or CD) and go to a nearby place that has printing facilities. Click here to learn how to print a PDF file.It is strongly recommended to print the application form using laser Printers.
Step 7.
The printed application form will have 4 Pages. Click here to download a SAMPLE application form.
Step 8.
Pages 1 and 3 contain instructions and completed application form (Student's copy) respectively. Keep them safely for future reference.
Step 9.
Page 2 is a printed application form. Stick your photograph. Affix the signatures of the parent/guardian and yourself.
Step 10.
Page 4 is the Zonal IIT Address Slip. Paste it on the A4 Cover
Step 11.
Put Completed page 2 in the A4 cover along with the attested copies of the SSLC and other necessary certificates and post it.

Way 2 : (Bank Challan Mode)
Apply sitting at Home and pay through a bank 

If you have access to a computer and your parent/guardian DO NOT have a credit card, then you can follow this way.            

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WAY 2 -- APPLY FROM HOME & PAY THROUGH A BANK
Step 1 .
Decide on the Town/City where you shall be writing JEE 2010. Find out the Zonal IIT to which your Town/City belongs to by clicking here.
Step 2.
Next, you will have to register yourself at the online JEE website. You will get a user name and you fill in a password. Register yourself ONLY after you understand steps 3 to 12 below. After registration, you will be prompted to login to the website using the username and password.
Step 3.
After logging into the website, you will be prompted to enter necessary data. You can PRACTISE entering the data by clicking here.
For the payment mode select "payment through banks". Payment shall be accepted by ALL BRANCHES OF STATE BANK OF INDIA and INDIAN BANK ACROSS THE COUNTRY. This ends your application process.
Step 5.
At this point, a PDF file of the application with all details filled shall be generated and you can save it in your disk.
Step 6.
If you have a printer at home - print the file, else copy the file (into a pen-drive or CD) and go to a nearby place that has printing facilities. Click here to learn how to print a PDF file. It is strongly recommended to print the application form using laser printers.

Page 5 is the filled up challan for the selected bank (in triplicate).

 
Go to the branch of the selected bank in your neighbourhood and pay the money. The bank will affix seal and return the IIT and the student copies of the challan back to you.

 
Retain the student copy for your reference . Cut and attach the IIT copy with the completed application form ( Page 2)
Step 12.
Put completed Page 2 along with bank challan (IIT Copy), attested copies of the SSLC and necessary certificates in the A4 cover and post it.

Way 3 : (Help-Line Mode)
Apply through a Help-line Center (available in Selected States only)

This feature is available in Selected States only

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WAY3 -- APPLY FROM A HELP-LINE CENTER
Step 1.
Take copies of all the required documents and the credit card (if available)
Step 2.
Go to an authorized Help-line centre with your parent / guardian. Click here to see the list of Help-line Centres.
Step 3.
The Help-line centre shall help you fill up the application form. Pay the fees either using credit card or through a nearby bank. The Help-line centre shall guide you on this.
Step 4.
Collect the acknowledgement from the Help-line centre
Step 5.
Pay Rs.35 /- as Centre charges. The Centre shall collect the application from you and send it to the organizing IIT.
